Farmers' Market Offers Fresh, Local Options

Ever get tired of picking through soggy fruits and vegetables at the grocery store or sick of paying top dollar prices for produce that isn’t even ripe yet? Well, there is a solution to those problems. The 20-plus vendors who sell at Paducah’s Downtown Farmers’ Market provide customers with quality customer service and an outstanding variety of products. Fresh produce, honey, flowers, wine and an assortment of other homegrown, home-baked, and canned goods will be available at this year’s Downtown Farmers’ Market.

Glisson Vineyards and Winery will sell their locally-produced wines for the first time this year. Broyles Apiary is back selling Annie’s famous honey which includes favorite flavors such as pecan, peach, and strawberry. Broyles will also offer a variety of lip balm and other wax products.

Trout Farms sells a wide selection of herbs, heirloom tomato plants, homemade soup mix and several other unique products.  In fact, there will even be fresh zinnias and sunflowers at the market once the season arrives.

Visitors will have several options to choose from in canned goods and fresh baked breads from Kirchhoff’s Bakery, another Paducah favorite. The Downtown Farmers’ Market is quickly becoming a one-stop shopping spot for locals looking for fresh options.

Visitors to the market will enjoy cooking demonstrations done by the Master Food Volunteers on the first Saturday of each month. They can also ask the Master Gardeners all of their plant and gardening questions on the third Saturday of the month.

The Farmers’ Market is one of the only places in our region where customers can talk to the people who actually grow their food. It’s a great way to support local business and fresh food. There is a growing demand in our culture for organic and locally-grown produce.

The market is open on Monday through Saturday from 7:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
