Sure, quite simply, our shoes are a reflection of our personal style. But they have so many more tales to tell. Social status, values, aesthetic sense, how we walk and stand, and even sexual desires are all reflected in our shoes.
Take my perpetually high-heeled self, for example. I bought a pair of flats on a misguided shopping expedition once. Once. Oh, they were stylish and all, and each of the approximately three times I wore them I received endless compliments from numerous other stylish, flats-wearing gals.

I've quite honestly never felt so unauthentic in my life. Why? Because my shoes were telling lies about me! No offense to other cute flats wearers, but I'm not cute. I don't strive to be cute. Give me a pair of sky-high killer heels that scream, “Tall! Confident! Sexy! Larger than life!” over a pair of flats any day of the week.
