BBQ + Champagne = 2nd Annual Bubble Q

Wondering what's going on with Paducah's historic Arcade Building at 5th and Broadway?

Find out Friday, June 27, at the Bubble Q Party of Parties! Be among the first to see inside the renovated building and toast its rebirth — in fact, toast the continued revitalization of all of Paducah's Downtown and LowerTown!

BBQ meets bubbly starting at 6:30 p.m., with music by the fabulous Murr-Vegas All Stars, food by Laura Duff of A Pampered Palate at Kirchhoff's, magic by Todd Duff and an amazing list of party-themed auction items. Check it out:

Music by the fabulous Murr-Vegas All Stars!
  • Party for 50 at The 14th Ever BBQ on the River, includes party space by the murals, food and beverages
  • 20 tickets to a Southern Illinois Miners baseball game with tailgate party supplied by Subway
  • 8 tickets to a Saturday matinee of Market House Theatre’s “My Way,” along with coffee and desserts by Market Square Coffee and Kirchhoff’s Bakery
  • Brushstrokes and Beverages painting party provided by Wildhair Studios
  • Ice skating party in the new Downtown ice rink this winter, along with refreshments
  • Tea party for kids courtesy of SereniTea
  • Holiday Parade party for 10 kids, including an afternoon with Santa, craft making, a ride on Paducah Main Street's float and cookies and hot chocolate afterward
  • Blog-tail party courtesy of iList Paducah and Sassy Sophisticate Gourmet Catering, with the iList Paducah team showing how to get started with a blog, MySpace or Facebook page and Sassy Sophisticate serving hors d'oeuvres and cocktails!
And what's for supper? Glad you asked! The lovely Laura Duff is cooking up Classic BBQ and Pork Loin Sandwiches, BBQ Chicken Salad, Hot Smoked Salmon Mousse and more.

Tickets are $50 each or $1,000 for a VIP table of 10, including recognition in the program.

The event benefits Paducah Main Street — but in its new form. In the past five years alone, Paducah Main Street has played a critical role in Paducah's Downtown renovation, bringing in 40 new businesses — most recently, Lela's Boutique, Hooper's, the Argentinean Grill and the Broadway General Store — and 60 new apartments to Paducah's now very hip again Downtown area.

Paducah Main Street has been so successful that its now applying its Four Point Approach to include economic development and revitalization to both Downtown and LowerTown. The group will have a new name (creative folks are working on it) and already includes LowerTown representatives on its board (see right).

David Boggs remains the group's promotion and events coordinator and Monica Bilak, who had been focused on the Artist Relocation Program, is the economic development coordinator. A marketing manager position is open. All three will combine their energy and expertise to market and promote both the Downtown and LowerTown neighborhoods.

Most Downtown and many LowerTown businesses (including iList Paducah) already belong to the soon-to-be-named group. The cost is $150 per year. Along with inclusion on the Web site and bulletin board, member businesses are featured in maps and various promotional activities designed to attract new businesses, residents and shoppers to the neighborhood.

"This is definitely going to be the party of parties," says cute, cute, cute David Boggs. "We've got great music, great food, great champagne — and the location just couldn't be better. We hope everyone will join us and help bring back the spirit of the Arcade!"
