It's Gala Scholarship Auction time — West Kentucky Community & Technical College's big bash that raises big bucks for the PJC General Scholarship Fund.
The event is set for 5:30 p.m., Thursday, September 4, at Harrah's Hotel & Conference Center in Metropolis. You'll find details on the event's special Web site, galascholarshipauction.com, and in our sidebar, right.
Along with the great fellowship, food and refreshments, the WKCTC Gala Scholarship Auction is known for its amazingly fabulous silent and live auction items. Folk plunk down serious coin for:

Points Across CampusSo the new scoop is that this year, Gala Scholarship Auction guests can participate in Points Across Campus.
Similar to the board game "Life," Points Across Campus takes participants through the life of a WKCTC student. The goal: Collect as many points as possible, then pool your points with family and friends. Use your points to bid on the last live auction item of the evening: A week in a Sarasota condo that sleeps four!

Start earning points now by printing the particular Points Across America featured on the Web site — they're posted to a different Web page each day. Bring them to the Gala.
Earn extra points by making your Gala reservations before August 18.
And then earn more points throughout the Gala evening by drawing cards at various stations.
By the time the Sarasota condo comes up in the auction — it's the last item and can be purchased with points only — you should have plenty of points to snag a week at the beach — especially if you pool your points with other fun folks and share the condo together!
