Two of the region's hottest female DJs are ready to Miss Behave at Renaissance Lounge, Saturday, September 13! DJs Karizma and Jen Z, along with G.I.J., Reiek Havoc, Purvis, Pete Pan and DJ Urban Kobbb, make up the hottest line up of the year. The gig is sponsored by Cosmic Vibe Alliance and iList Paducah!
The action starts with DJ Urban Kobbb and Peter Pan warming things up with chill down-tempo beats outside in the beer garden around 9 p.m. Then the action gets even hotter inside with these hottie headliners:
DJ KarizmaSt. Louis Riverfront Times DJ of the Year! Fresh off her award-winning performance at the Ultra music festival, Karizma, 22, continues to break barriers, sharing her talents across the map. From the dark basements of the Lou's underground to the hottest clubs in the city, Karizma brings a wide selection of sounds for the soul. With Karizma behind the decks, the dance floor is always on fire.
"My main passion and focus in life is music," says the gorgeous Karizma, who began singing as a toddler and turned to the turntables at age 15. She purchased her first pair of Technic at 18, and practiced daily.
"It's my heart, life and soul!," Karizma adds. "I currently spin numerous one offs, playing groovy sounds of electro, techy, progressive, dirty and even some dark-styled Breaks and House. I enjoy all styles of music. I'm more than just a DJ — a core performer is more like it. I love to connect with the crowd through emotions, dancing and voice."
Jen ZDuring the past half decade, Jen Z has taken the Midwest by storm. Rocking dance floors with a variety of soul-gripping grooves, from the hardest driving bass lines to the softest pleasing melodies, Jen Z is sure to take us on a trip through break-beat bliss.
"Funk, soul, electro, jazz, reggae, dirt, grime, disco, pop, rock — I love it all as long as it's in the form of a breakbeat," says the beautiful Jen Z. "I've been a fan of music all my life."
One of her fondest memories, Jen Z says, is sitting next to her father on the piano bench while he played and sang Journey and Eagles songs.
"I went to college to earn a bachelor's in theater, and in the process learned the art of deejaying and fell in love with it," Jen Z adds. "There's no better feeling than watching a crowd of people getting down to the same catchy grooves that make me move while I'm pumping them through the speakers. I look forward to what the future holds in store for me."
These Cosmic Vibe DJs will throw down, too:
G.I.J.Base Heavy Electro
"I'm just a normal guy trying to work my way thru life," G.I.J. says. "I'm currently bartending and serving at Doe's Eat Place where our meat is so big, no one can beat it. When I'm not working, my free time is spent hanging with the posse and laying down the heavy beatz."
Reiek HavocLatin House
With a seasoned ear for quality house music, when Reiek Havok is behind the decks digging through his record box, you know he's coming back up with straight heat. Introduced to house music at a fairly early age and heavily influenced by Chicago House originators and groove-inducing disco, Reiek Havok's selection never disappoints. From funky to deep to tracky to disco — whatever your vice, he's got your fix.
